50 Favourite Youtubers

I love watching youtube videos and in my spare time (apart from blogging) I am usually watching a youtube video. I am subscribed to over 150 channels so I thought I'd whittle it down to 50 and tell you the ones that I really do love. I am going down my subscription list so it's in no particular order to who I like watching best. Also I'm not doing it as specific channels, I'm doing it as the people because most likely if they have more than one channel then I'll love all of them the same.

The Sleek Perfector Oil | Review

I got a sample of this when I made an online shop and it was a product that I had wanted to try for a while but never got round to buying it so when I saw the sample I couldn't wait to try it out. I used it once and knew I had to go out and buy the full size! I'm not one for using too much heat on my hair, I usually blow dry it after I have a shower unless I wash it the night before which I would put it in plaits and let it fry overnight. When it is dry, unless I straighten it, it's always frizzy and has lots of flyaways but this product really helps prevent the look of frizziness. I just put one to two pumps onto the tips of my fingers and the rub my fingertips together to create a bit of warmth within the product and then run my fingers through my hair.

I use this along with the shampoo and conditioner in the same range, and they all smell so delicious! With this product you can definitely tell when you've used it because your hair feels so much softer and looks so shiny and healthy but it doesn't feel greasy which is something you get quite often with hair oils. This comes in at £9.99 a bottle and for how many times you can use this, it's definitely worth it. You only need 1-2 pumps depending on how long your hair is, it's is also super lightweight which is great because it doesn't weigh your hair down. It says lasts up to 72 hours, I don't agree with this, it lasts 24 hours at most, and I find that I do need to reapply it every day but overall I really really like this product and I will be buying another one when I run out!

Primark PS Lip Liner | Review

Last time I went into Primark I thought I'd have a quick look at their makeup, I didn't think any of it would be any good but I picked up a couple of their lip liners anyway just to try them out and at £1 each I thought why not.

To my surprise they are actually quite good, they're not very creamy and they can be a bit drying but they are so long lasting, you can put it under your lipstick and it will last a good 6/7 hours. It also helps your lipstick to last longer as well. The pigmentation isn't great and you do have to go over it a couple of times to make it stand out but once you're there the colour looks really nice. When I was in Primark I picked up the red one which I like wearing under Julianne's Red by L'oreal and the darkish nude that sort of looks like a shade Kylie Jenner would wear which I like wearing under Rimmel 08 or Nars Audacious in Barbara.

I would definitely recommend these if you're looking for cheap lip liners, the colour selection isn't the biggest but the colours there are gorgeous. I think at £1 you can't really go wrong with these and I am definitely going to pick up a few more makeup bits from there to see if they are as good.

Duty Free Haul

I may have gone slightly crazy at the Mac and YSL counter in duty free but let's be honest the makeup is so much cheaper there and I wanted to treat myself.

I went to the Mac counter first because I knew it was there (whereas I couldn't remember if the YSL was at the North terminal or not) and first I picked up the Prolongwear Concealer in NC15, I have always wanted to try this out because of the hype it gets by so many people, I did use it whilst on holiday and I have to say it is really really good, I may do a review sometime soon because I love it. The next thing I picked up was the Paint pot in the shade Painterly, this was another product I have wanted to try out for so long because it is talked about a lot and it always looked like a good base for eyeshadow and even on its own to cancel out veins on your eyelids. I have used this once so far and it definitely does a good job at covering up veins on my eyelids which is great because I've not found a product that will actually conceal them! Then of course I went to the lipstick counter and picked up two lipsticks to add to my collection, I got Mehr which is a lovely dark nude colour and Twig which is sort of similar. I love both of these lipsticks and I feel this sort of shade and formula is what suits me the best.

I then headed over to the YSL counter 'heart eyes emoji' and everything is so pretty, I bought two of the Rouge Volupte lipsticks in the shades 1 and 9 which were ones I've had my eye on every time I've been into Debenhams! What I didn't know is that number 1 was apparently being discontinued so that pretty made up my mind whether I was getting it or not! I don't have an excuse for number 9 but it was just so lovely I didn't want to leave it behind! I will be doing a whole post dedicated to these lipsticks because all I want to do is take countless photos of these beauties because the packaging is so stunning and photogenic!

Benefit Watts Up | Review

This was one of the first proper highlighters I ever owned and it's definitely one of my all time favourites! I got it for Christmas last year and I had a choice between this and the Girl Meets Pearl one also by Benefit but I chose this one purely because the shade was much more champagne coloured and it was in a stick formula as opposed to a liquid one which was similar to something I already had!

I think the formulation of this is really nice, it's so creamy and easy to blend in once applied and it gives a nice glow to your face without it being really obvious. This is definitely one you can build on though so if you were wanting a slightly more highlighted face then you can definitely do that by just adding a bit more too your cheekbones.

One bad thing about this product is the packaging, I hate how big and bulky it is because it makes it so hard to store with all my other highlighters and also a pain if you're travelling and want to take this with you. Another thing I'm not sure about is that sponge at the bottom which quite frankly is utter rubbish, it's way too small to blend in any product and even if it was bigger it wouldn't be any better at blending it in which by the way is awful, they should definitely look into changing it or just removing it all together because it is useless! Apart from that I think the packaging is really pretty and is so easy to take photos of, I love the lilac purple shade and the lightbulb is kinda cool!

Overall I really love this product and when I run out I will definitely pick up another one! Definitely recommend it if you're looking to buy a new highlighter!

Top 5 Mascaras

I have to say this was really hard to get it down to just 5. Mascara was the first product I ever used, and since I started using it I have tested out so many mascara's, some being a lot better than others! In the future I might do a part 2 or split it into drugstore and high end because I love a lot of mascara's!

First up is the newest in my collection, it's the Benefit Roller Lash, I'm sure the whole blogging community know about this mascara and have either tried it themselves or at least read a review on this mascara. It's so lengthening and you definitely don't have to use eyelash curlers because this curls your lashes for you. It lasts forever and doesn't flake off throughout the day or anything, this is just an all round great mascara and I can't recommend it enough.

Next is an offering from Maybelline, it's my trusty The Falsies, this was one of the first mascara's I ever used and I have gone back to it every single time, I must've gone through at least seven tubes of this it's incredible. It's so voluminous and lengthening and like it's name it suggests, it definitely looks like you have false eyelashes on. I think this is the best drugstore mascara out there, big claim I know but I've tried so many different ones out and none of them have compared to this one.

I love the Max Factor False Lash Effect, it definitely makes my lashes really thick and voluminous but the only thing is that it doesn't make my lashes look any longer which is what I normally go for in a mascara but because it makes my lashes look so thick I'm not too bothered. I've never had a mascara make my lashes look so voluminous so the fact is doesn't lengthen them doesn't bother me too much.

This is a mascara that has come into my collection quite recently, it's the Maybelline Lash Sensational, I've heard a few people talking about this and I thought I would see what the hype was about and it is insane! It does everything I want my mascara to do, it's doesn't make my lashes clumpy and I just love it a lot!

Last up is another offering from Benefit, it's the They're Real mascara, this isn't quite as good as Roller Lash but it's still incredible, It lengthens, it voluminses, it's everything. I hate that it's so hard to get off but that does mean that it's very long lasting. If I'm going to be out all day then this is the mascara I will use because I know it won't flake off and end up being all down my face by the end of the day!

Makeup Revolution Fixing Spray | Review

Makeup Revolution is a brand that has hugely impressed the whole blogger community, their products have never disappointed me and this product was next on my list to try out. It's their Pro Fix Amazing Makeup Fixing Spray, so the idea of this is to spray it a couple of times over your face after you applied your makeup and it's meant to keep your makeup in place with no smudging or fading for up to 12 hours.

I have to say I am hugely impressed with this, I first tried it out on a hot sunny day and I went on with my day how I usually would. Normally my makeup would melt down my face and look horrendous by the end of the day so when I looked in the mirror before I took my makeup off I was so surprised! My makeup looked almost as good it did when I applied it, apart from slight oiliness around my t-zone which I would usually just touch up with a bit of powder. I was still sceptical at this point to whether it was the fixing spray or my foundation (I used a different foundation than I usually would) so the next day I made sure I only sprayed it on half of my face, and at the end of the day half my face had melted and looked horrible and the other half looked pretty good if I do say so myself!

I have used this every single day since I bought it and for only £5 this product is insane! I have not tried the Urban Decay setting spray but I don't think I will be purchasing that anytime soon because this one does the job! I definitely recommend this if you have problems with makeup staying on your face in hot weather and for £5 you can't really go wrong can you?!

Stila In The Light | Review

I bought this palette back in May and since then this has been my go-to palette. The thing I loved about this palette is the colour range, every shade is so neutral and there is the perfect balance between shimmer and matte shades, with 6 being shimmery and 4 being matte. The consistency of these shadows are amazing, they are so soft and creamy which makes them a dream to blend. They are also extremely highly pigmented and I love the Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner that it comes with. It's in the shade 'Damsel' which is a dark matte brown and it's perfect if you want your makeup to look a little bit softer than if you were to use a pure black shade. This eyeliner does not budge, it is incredible but it means that if you make a mistake you cannot reactify it without ruining your makeup, believe me I tried.

You can create so many natural looks with this, but you are also able to make it more of a nighttime look with some of the darker shades. The shade 'Kitten' is the perfect for the inner corner and I love 'Sunset' which is a beautiful coppery shimmer shade. The only colour I don't think I'll get much wear out of is 'Night Sky' which is a shimmery blue/grey colour because I'm much more into neutral eyeshadows and I think they suit me a lot more than if I had colour on my eyelids. I think this palette is such good value for money, it retails at £25 for 10 eyeshadows plus a waterproof eyeliner in the shade 'Damsel' which on it's own I think is £16 so to get all of this for £25 is pretty amazing if you ask me!

You can buy this palette in some Boots stores, my local one doesn't sell Stila so I got this off the ASOS website but you can also get this on LookFantastic and FeelUnique.

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer | Review

The Mary-Lou Manizer is a product I have wanted to try out for so long now and finally when Kathleen Lights said it was one of her favourite highlighters I knew I had to get it. I've had it for about 2 months now and I can't remember the last time I did my makeup without using this!

If you're looking for a more natural highlight this one is not for you! It's very noticeable once you've got it on but it's not glittery or shimmery, it's just pure glow. It's very finely milled and it feels so buttery and smooth on the skin which makes it a dream to blend. I apply this to the tops of my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose, my cupids bow, my inner corner and sometimes on my chin if I'm really going for a glowy look. I think this is the most perfect champagne highlight and if you don't have it, you need it. Also can we just talk about the packaging for a second!? It's so cute, and it feels like such good quality, I also love that it has a mirror inside as well, that's always nice!

As with a lot of highlighters, a little goes a long way and even with using this product everyday it would last at least a year, so you may have to pay nearly £20 for it but it's well worth it for the quality and the amount you get, not forgetting that there are plenty of other highlighters out there for double the price which are half as good. When I run out of this I will definitely be repurchasing another one as this is holy grail status!

What's On My Face | Being On A Plane

Obviously being on a plane your skin can become really dry because of the air pressure so wearing makeup is not the best thing to do as you should let your skin breathe but I wanted to have a little bit of coverage and just something on my face to stop me looking so dead.

What's In My Travel Makeup Bag

I'm going on holiday in a week's time and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to tell you what makeup I will be taking with me. Obviously you don't want to be taking too much but if you're like me and want to take absolutely everything you own then this post might be helpful for you. I've split it up into categories to help me decide what I would actually use whilst away.

The first thing is foundation, I decided to bring two foundations with me, the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation because it's really glowy and looks amazing when the sun is out and I've also chosen to bring my Nars Sheer Glow which I know won't be my shade by the end of my holiday but for the first few days it will be perfect. For concealer I've gone for my trusty Collection Lasting Perfection, you cannot go wrong with this concealer it is amazing! I'll also take my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer because I love that for a more radiant glow under my eyes. The primer I have chosen to bring with me is my Benefit Porefessional, because my makeup always seems to look so flawless when I use this. The powder I'm taking with me is my Rimmel Stay Matte, it's my all-time favourite powder and keeps me from looking shiny.

I have chosen to bring two bronzers with me, the first is Benefit Hoola, I can't not take this with me I love it! The second is my Body Shop Honey Bronzer as it gives a much more natural looking bronze to my face. Highlighters are some of my favourite makeup products and this was by far the hardest section to pick from because I love each and every one I own the same amount, I had to go with three different ones, these are my Mac Soft and Gentle, theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer and Benefit Watts Up, these are just incredible and I think if I hadn't bought either of these three then halfway through my holiday I would be wishing I had bought them! Onto blushers, I have chosen to bring my Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Seductive Pink, I think this is the perfect pink shade for the cheeks and would look lovely when I have a tan. I also am bringing my Benefit Rockateur, which I love and is my all-time favourite blush.

Choosing mascara's was quite easy for me, I think I've used both these mascara's and nothing else for the past two or three months and they are the Maybelline The Falsies and Benefit Rollerlash, both give so much volume and length to my lashes and they make them look amazing! The eyeliners I am taking are the Benefit Push Up Liner, Topshop Liquid Liner and the Maybelline Big Eyes, a mixture of all gel, liquid and pencil formula there which I use generally on a day-to-day basis anyway. I'm not going to be taking any single eyeshadows with me because I'm taking two palettes instead and in there I will have every colour that I need. I'm taking my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and my Stila In The Light palette, both are quite different palettes and have a range of different colours in them. For cream eyeshadows I am taking my all-time favourite one which is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze, I literally wear this colour most days when I'm in a rush or just as a quick get up and go shade, it's perfect. For brows I am going to be taking my Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe, it's the perfect colour for my brows and I love it. To set that I will be using my Benefit Gimme Brow.

Choosing lipsticks was by far the hardest, I split it into four categories; red, pink, nude and coral. I have chosen to take two colours from each category which may be a little bit ridiculous but I know in my mind that I can justify it because I'm such an undecided person and I like to have plenty of choices in lip colour. The red shades I have chosen are Mac Russian Red and L'Oreal Color Riche in Julianne's Red, I did want to bring my L'Oreal Color Riche in Blake's Red as well but that is so similar to Mac Russian Red so there would have been no point. The pink lipsticks I have chosen is Mac's Speak Louder and L'Oreal Color Riche in Julianne's Nude, Speak Louder is sort of a darker pink and Julianne's Nude is an everyday pink shade. Next up is nude lipsticks, I have chosen my Nars Audacious Lipstick in Barbara and my Topshop Lipstick in Nevada, Barbara is a darker nude shade a little bit like the 'Kylie Jenner lip' and Nevada is more of a lighter true nude shade. The coral shades I have chosen is Revlon's Kiss Me Coral and Mac's Coral Bliss, Kiss Me Coral is definitely more of an orange than Coral Bliss which is a lot lighter and corally. I have also decided that eight lipsticks is not enough and that I can't go without my Rimmel 107 and Rimmel 03 so I have decided to take them as well. Away from lipsticks slightly, the lipglosses I have chosen to take with me are my Urban Decay Lipgloss in Liar and my Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Picnic in the Park.

That is everything that I'll be taking with me in my travel makeup bag, apart from makeup brushes which will be the usual Real Techniques and Zoeva.

August Wishlist

Here is my August wishlist for you! I just want to apologise for my lack of interaction on social media this month, I have a very busy month with two holidays, a trip to Newcastle and a wedding to attend!

I am really intrigued by The Library of Fragrance, I love the idea of the different, unusual scents they do and I would love to try a few out but the only thing I'm wary about is that they don't sell them anywhere that I know of so I can go test them out and see which ones I like but I definitely want to try this brand out.

I have been lusting over the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Bitch Perfect, I think Sammi from BeautyCrush mentioned this when she was doing Vlune and ever since then I have wanted this lipstick, it's looks the perfect everyday shade and I love it. Also I haven't got anything from Charlotte Tilbury so I would love to try them out and the packaging for everything is so beautiful I can't cope.

Next thing I am lusting over is the Oliver Bonas Alphabet 'H', I just think this is a beautiful decoration that would be perfect sitting there on a shelf or on your desk or something, I love it and the fact it is rose gold makes me want it even more!

The last thing on my wishlist is from another brand that I have never tried anything from is the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water, I have heard lots about this and I think this would be so much easier than typical primers you apply on your face. A spritz of this would be so quick and easy.

July Favourites

It's coming to the end of July now which means it's time to round up my favourites of this month and tell you what they are:

The first thing I have been loving this month is the Soap and Glory The Breakfast Scrub, this scrub smells delicious, it smells of a mixture of banana, almond and honey which let me tell you is one of the best combination of smells ever, I love it. It's made with oats, shea butter and sugar which makes your body feel so smooth after you've used it. It's a sugar scrub which I much prefer to salt scrubs as it's a lot more gentle on the skin. I also find a little goes a long way with this product and honestly you need a lot less than you first think you do when you use this product for the first time.

The next thing I have been loving is the Topshop Glow Highlighter, I wanted to get this in the rose gold limited edition packaging but they were all sold out in the store where I live which I was pretty gutted about I'm not gonna lie but I got it anyway and I love it, it's such a creamy texture that blends like a dream. It's so smooth and you only need a small amount of product on your finger and it leaves you with a nice glow on the tops of your cheekbones.

Another Topshop product I have been loving is the Lipstick in Innocent, this one I did manage to get in the limited edition rose gold packaging. Obviously you all know how great Topshop lipsticks are but I really like this colour at the moment and it's what I have been reaching for the past couple weeks. It's a very pink shade with almost lilac undertones in it which I find quite unusual and I have nothing like this in my ever growing collection of lipsticks.

This next favourite is The Body Shop Honey Bronzer which I actually did a full review on here if you want to have a look but I just think this is the perfect natural bronzer for people with pale skin. It doesn't look orange at all when you apply it and you just can't go overboard with this because it's so natural. I also think the packaging is really nice and it also smells really nice as well.

The next favourite is the Stila In The Light Palette, I used this palette for my makeup for my prom and I think it's perfect for a natural look that you can then transform into something a bit more fancy and evening appropriate. I love the shade Kitten for my inner corner highlight and I am in love with the eyeliner, it's in the shade 'Damsel' which is a lovely deep brown colour which I wouldn't usually go for because I normally just stick to black but I love this colour and I have been using it way more than I've been using black, it's a lot softer and natural looking although I think I might pick up this eyeliner in the black colour because I love the formula so much and it's so long lasting.

My last favourite is in fact a person, I have been loving Kathleen Lights this month, and I love her all months but this month especially her YouTube videos are the ones I have been clicking on first, I think she's a beautiful person inside and out and she is one of the most down to earth youtubers there are. I have been loving her makeup stash videos, mainly because I'm nosey and want to know all of the makeup she owns but also because they are usually long chatty videos which are my favourite of hers to watch. Only bad thing is that everything she talks about I want which is not great for my bank balance!

What have been your favourites this month?

Travel Essentials

I'm going on holiday in just under two weeks time so I thought it would be a great idea to tell you my travel essentials for when I go on holiday. I'm going on a plane so obviously I won't have wifi so I can't spend the entire flight on twitter.. I would if I could but I can't so I'm going to need a few things to keep me entertained for a couple of hours.

The first essential is headphones, I will want to listen to music for the majority of the flight so they are a must-have. I will be taking both overhead and in-ear ones because I don't know about you but having the same type of headphones on for a few hours at a time can start to give me a headache and that's the last thing I want when I'm on a plane. The next thing is chewing gum or some sort of chewy sweet, this is because when you take off and land if you're chewing on something your ears are less likely to pop and feel funny, sometimes they still pop but I find it's never as bad if you have something to chew on.

One thing I like to take on board is what I call a 'beauty bag' which is sort of where I keep all my bits and bobs that will keep me feeling clean and refreshed. So inside the bag I have a few makeup products because I don't like wearing makeup on the plane because it makes your skin feel so dry and gross so near the end of the flight I like to put on a bit of makeup to make myself look presentable. This would usually include concealer to cover up the dark circles under your eyes, a mascara to open up your eyes, a pencil eyeliner to define your eyes and a bronzer to put colour back into your face. To go with that I would also carry a couple of makeup brushes to help apply the products. Other things that I would include in my 'beauty bag' is hand gel to obviously keep your hands free from bacteria, a moisturiser to moisturise your skin as I mentioned before planes can really dry out your skin. I would also keep a deodorant (not tan aerosol can) and a rollerball perfume just incase you want smell a bit nicer and I would never board a flight without my trusty Carmex lip balm which I have loved since I can remember. It's so moisturising and it also smells amazing!

Other things that are essential for flying are cosy socks so your feet keep warm and snuggly, I would also take tissues because you never know when you'll need a tissue! I will also take the book which I am planning to read whilst I'm away incase I want to start it before I'm there. Sunglasses are a must to take in your hand luggage because even though you won't need them on flight if you're going somewhere hot and sunny when you get there you might need them, even if I know I'll be arriving during the night I would always pack sunglasses in my hand luggage so I know I've definitely got them and also because I might just want to get there and go straight to sleep without unpacking so they'll be ready for you in the morning when you have a wander around where you're staying before you do eventually unpack your things. The last essential that I always bring with me is my phone charger, this is sort of the same reason as the sunglasses but also I get really panicky if I think about losing my suitcase, I always have visions of it being put on the wrong flight or something and if one day it did get put on the wrong flight one thing that I would want from my suitcase is my phone charger because I am constantly checking twitter, constantly checking my blog stats, constantly checking instagram, etc.

So that is all my travel essentials that I would bring on a flight. What are your travel essentials? Are they the same as mine or would you bring something that maybe I haven't mentioned?

Maybelline Colour Tattoos

Maybelline Colour Tattoos are one of my favourite products from the drugstore, the formula of them is so creamy and they last so long on your eyelids. They are great for using as a base but also look amazing when they are used on their own. These products are so cheap as well, drugstore makeup is cheap anyway but you'd expect these to be in the higher price mark of the drugstore yet they are only £4.99 which is incredible for such an amazing product! At the moment I own 5, they are On and On Bronze, Metallic Pomegranate, Chocolate Suede, Permanent Taupe and Eternal Gold, so all quite neutral colours but I just wouldn't wear any of the bright ones like the purple one they do or the blue one. I think the next one I get will be Creamy Beige or maybe Pink Gold.

My all time favourite shade is On and On Bronze which is the one I think everyone loves, it's such a beautiful bronze colour with a bit of shimmer in it. I love using this on it's own as a get up and go sort of thing, but I also love using this with other eyeshadows as a base. It's probably the shade I wear the most out of all of them and I think it's the one that suits me best.

The next one I'm going to talk about it Permanent Taupe, and when I first got this and used it on my eyelids I did not like it at all! I hated the colour on me and it just didn't work as well as any of the other ones I have which was disappointing until one day when I was playing with my makeup and I looked at it and thought lets see what this looks like on my eyebrows. I don't know what made my brain think to do that but I did and it turned out to be the perfect brow shade for me. It did take a couple of times to get my technique right but when I did I loved it. I discovered this a few months ago and it's the only brow product I have used since unless I wanted to go more natural and just use a brow gel. I'm blonde and this works perfectly, so if you have blonde hair and want to try out a new brow product then check this out because it's amazing! I also think if you had darker hair then you could try this out because you can definitely build up the colour and make it darker.

The three that I use but not as often is Metallic Pomegranate, Chocolate Suede and Eternal Gold. Metallic Pomegranate is a really beautiful sort of burgundy shade which I think is perfect for autumn/winter time. It has gold glitter in it which makes me think of Christmas! I think with this shade I'd always go for a bit of extra definition in the crease just to make it stand out a bit more. Chocolate Suede is a rich, chocolatey shade with bits of gold glitter running through it. On the eyes it definitely isn't as pigmented as it looks in the pot, it sort of goes more into a smoky brown shade which is perfect if you want to wear a smoky eye look. I really want to try this as a gel liner, I think it could look quite nice if you had a neutral eye look then wing it out, I'll have to see if it looks alright and report back. Has anyone else tried this? The last Colour Tattoo I will be talking about is Eternal Gold, this is probably my least favourite out of the ones I have, I'm just not sure if the colour works for me but I will keep trying it because it is beautiful in the pot and I do want to love it.

Russian Red vs Blake's Red

These lipsticks are lipsticks that I love equally as much, but they are very very similar. Although in the picture Blake's Red looks a lot more of a vibrant red than Russian Red they are near enough the exact same colour on the lips, you can see in the swatch that they are very very similar and I would say you definitely don't need both, but if you're like me and you're a lipstick addict you will want both, however similar they might be!

They are both matte finishes and neither are very drying on the lips and the staying power for both of them is incredible, they last around 6/7 hours which is amazing! The only difference between these is the Mac one is £7 more expensive. So if you want Russian Red but don't want to pay £15 then get Blake's Red, it's half the price! I almost forgot to say; Blake's Red smells delicious, the scent reminds me of parma violets! We all know how nice Mac lipsticks smell don't we?! When I bought my first Mac lipstick I literally sat there smelling it for a good half hour, who else has done that? Just me, ok.

I would definitely say the L'oreal Blake's Red is a dupe for Mac's Russian Red, the similarities between both lipsticks are amazing!

Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balm | Review

Max Factor are one of my favourite drugstore brands and whenever they come out with new products I am always eager to try them out. This time I'm reviewing the Colour Intensifying Balm and I have to say I really really like this, I have the colour Sumptuous Candy and the only thing that's stopping me getting the rest of them is the price. These retail at £8.99 which I think is a bit pricy for what they are, they are just like lip balms with extra staying power and don't get me wrong I do really really like these and the formula is great but I just haven't used it as much as I thought I would and I just wouldn't pay that much for something from the drugstore that I only use every so often. It might just be the colour that's not perfect for me so next time there's a 2 for £10 or a 3 for 2 offer in Boots I might pick up a couple of other shades and see what I think of them, you never know I might like them better.

I think the formula of these are fantastic, they are so creamy and soft and they honestly last for ages and when they do rub off they leave a stain on your lips which is great because you don't have to keep reapplying it throughout the day. I also really like the packaging, I love how Max Factor are slowly changing their packaging to black and gold which makes the products a lot nicer to look at and is great for displaying your makeup and obviously taking photographs of for your blog. One thing I have read about these is that they are apparently a dupe for the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Balm Perfectors which I can't say if they definitely are or not but just know that that's what I have read and if you have the Clarins option and you are looking for a cheaper alternative then check these out because they are great products. As I said at the beginning I do really like this product it's just not what I was hoping for exactly.

Another Beauty Haul

I did a haul about a month ago saying I had recieved my Covet Me ASOS voucher, I only ended up keeping a few things so everything I sent back was refunded and I decided instead of clothes I would order some new high-end makeup products that I haven't yet tried. The only thing I have tried though is the Benefit Roller Lash, I got the sample size back in February but recently I had used it all up and I was so impressed I had to get the full size. I actually have a review on this mascara, you can find it here. The next thing I got was the Stila In The Light Eyeshadow Palette, I have never tried anything from Stila before but from first impressions it is a really great palette and the eyeliner it comes with is incredible! I will be reviewing this soon so keep an eye out for that. I also bought theBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer, I have heard so much about this lately and when Kathleen Lights said it was one of her favourite highlighters I had to get it, it's a gorgeous shimmery champagne colour and I love it already! I wasn't planning on getting this but I did need one and it's something that you definitely need. It's the Nars Pencil Sharpener. The thing I like about this particular one is that it has a lid so you don't have to be by a bin when you're sharpening your eyeliners or lip liners, you can just empty it as and when you need to. It also allows you to sharpen both small and large pencils which is great because with the sharpener I had before I could only sharpen small pencils.

Then I went to Superdrug and picked up the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, I had run out of this a couple of weeks ago and only just got round to re-purchasing it. I've also picked up the Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette in Iconic 2, I've probably had this the longest out of everything in this haul because I got it about a month and a half ago but I thought I'd mention it anyway and I have a blog post going up soon featuring this palette so keep an eye out for that. I also got the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Creamy Beige, it's the only one that I haven't got which I like so I'm glad I finally picked this up and I am thinking of doing a post dedicated to my Maybelline Color Tattoos saying which ones are my favourites and my opinions on each shade I have etc.

How I Clean My Makeup Brushes

Cleaning your makeup brushes must be the least fun beauty related task, it is so boring and if you have a lot of brushes it can feel like it takes forever. Though it might be boring but it is so important, dirty brushes can carry bacteria which could cause you to get spots and blemishes. I am so bad with cleaning my brushes and I often leave it till the brushes are filthy which is gross I know and I need to do it more often! There are two different processes I use, and I should be spot cleaning my brushes every week and then deep cleaning them at least once a month.

Spot Clean
So this is the quick method which I would do once a week. It definitely is easier to clean the smaller brushes with this method rather than the big fluffy ones you would use to powder. The product I use to spot clean my brushes is the Mac Brush Cleanser which I have nearly run out of so if you know of any cheap ones then let me know. To spot clean I usually get a large cotton pad and apply a bit of the brush cleanser onto it, then I get my brush and I gently swirl it around. Sometimes I have to repeat this process especially with my foundation brushes just to get rid of as much makeup as I can.

Deep Clean
For a deep cleanse I use the Johnsons Baby Shampoo which is a great product to use because it's gentle and it's leaves my brushes feeling super soft. I start by dampening my brushes with warm water then put a pump of the Johnsons Baby Shampoo onto my hand then I start swirling the brush on the palm of my hand adding some more water to lather up the product then let it rinse away. I would also repeat that step if the brushes are super dirty and quite dense just to make sure you've cleaned the brushes properly. I do really want to invest in the sigma brush cleaning glove because it looks great and it helps to get rid of dirt in your brushes, it also keeps your hands from getting quite dry which they do when I clean my brushes so I have to use extra moisturiser to make them less dry!

When I've finally washed them all, I like squeeze out the excess water then lay them down on a towel to let them dry, usually overnight. One thing, remember to never dry them with the bristles pointing upwards, the water will seep to where the bristles are glued together and then they will all start to fall out which is the most annoying thing especially if you're applying your makeup and you get brush hair all over you face!

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush | Review

Are these blushes meant to be dupes for the Hourglass Ambient blushes? Apparently so, I wouldn't know in terms of formula but they do look insanely similar in appearance with both having the marbled sort of effect. I think the Hourglass packaging is prettier and more luxurious (which should be the case because of the price difference) but the Max Factor ones more practical since you can clearly see the colour through the packaging which is so much easier if you have multiple shades.

The range has 6 shades in total, I only have one which is the one shown in the photos and is Seductive Pink. I absolutely love this shade, I think it's beautiful and it gives the skin a lovely luminous glow as it not only acts as a blush but as a highlighter as well. These blushes are very soft and so easy to blend out if you accidentally apply too much, but the best thing about them is that you can swirl your brush in them and you won't get a cloud of shimmer flying at you like you do with most baked products! The colour I have is Seductive Pink and it's a soft peachy pink that has bits of golden shimmer running through it. I definitely am going to pick up a couple more shades of these next time I'm in boots, I really like the look of Gorgeous Berries and Nude Mauve so they might be the ones I pick up next!

I definitely think along with the Sleek blushes that they are the best in the drugstore, and I highly highly recommend these, they are some of the best and at £8.99 you can't really go wrong, can you?!

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer | Review

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer is something I have wanted to try for a while now but only recently when The Body Shop had an offer on I purchased it. I have seen so many people on YouTube talk about this and they all say how good it is so I thought I'd give it a go.

I have to say this is one of the best bronzers I have ever tried, I am really pale right now because I haven't been on holiday in a while and the UK is never sunny enough for me to tan properly so this bronzer is great because it's so natural and it's not orange or muddy looking like a few other drugstore bronzers. I got the shade 02 which is a fair matte and it's the perfect shade for me, I think if I got 03 it would be a little dark for me but I feel like I could probably get away with it if I blended it out really well. I like this for a subtle bronzy glow which is what I love in the summertime. It's matte and very finely milled so it feels very soft on the skin and it does last quite a long time on me, I can't quite go all day without touch ups but it doesn't just fade after 2/3 hours.

I also really love the packaging, I love the look with the honeycomb pattern which obviously goes with the name of the product. It's also quite compact compared to other bronzers I own, for example the Benefit Hoola bronzer is so hard to store because the packaging is so big and bulky, this on the other hand is thin and so easy to store amongst my other bronzers.

It's not the cheapest of drugstore bronzers at £13 but it's definitely worth the little bit extra as it's so good, when I run out which hopefully isn't too soon although I think I'm about to hit pan, I will repurchase this even if there's not an offer on, I love it and will be one that I will have in my makeup collection for many years to come.

July Wishlist

It's wishlist time! Here is what I am wishing for in July:

The first thing on my wishlist is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, it's an absolutely beautiful palette and I've seen so many people talk about this lately. I just think it would be perfect now that it's summertime and these would add an extra something to my skin and make it look completely flawless and glowy.

I have heard so many people talk about the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery over the years and I am not completely sure what it is or what it does but I want to have a proper skincare routine sorted and I think this would be one of the products I would invest in as I've not heard a bad word about this and I do love the blue bottle.

The next thing I am lusting over is the Victoria Beckham Nails Inc Nail Polish in Bamboo White, it's a beautiful shade and again nail polish is not something I wear too often, mainly because I only just finished school and we weren't allowed to have our nails painted and also because I don't have the patience to sit there and let it dry for ages but I do really like it when my nails are painted so I want to start painting them more often.

I'm not going to lie here but not only is the Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow in Rosewood a beautiful colour, the name is what attracted me to it. As a lover of Pretty Little Liars, I can't help but reference anything I can to that show and if you love PLL as much as I do you might understand. If you don't watch it (what are you doing, go and watch it now) Rosewood is the name of the town or place it is set in.

I put headphones in my previous wishlist but obviously you need alternatives to over-the-head headphone and that's where I found these Rose Gold Happy Plugs, I bloody love all things rose gold and copper and I can't help but want anything if it's either rose gold or copper, I just love it. And also how much nicer do these look compared to the standard Apple ones you get with your iPhone!

June Favourites

I can't believe it's June, I also can't believe it's taken so long to finally get into summer! May in terms of weather was absolutely terrible wasn't it!! I'm just so glad it's finally nice and sunny again.

The first thing I have been loving is the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Seductive Pink, this is such a gorgeous colour and I am in love with it. It is very pigmented and give the skin a beautiful luminous finish. It's a medium pink colour with a hint of gold running through it. The formula is lovely and I definitely need to go and pick up some of the other shades as these are amazing and I love them.

I'm pretty sure I did a full review on this here, it's the Hollister Malaia Perfume and it smells divine, it's perfect for summer as it's light and fresh. I won't tell you the notes and everything because I mentioned that in my review and I don't want to repeat myself but if you want to know more about this perfume then go read my full review on this, I can't recommend this enough though and if you're ever in Hollister or near a Hollister go and give this a whiff!

My next favourite is another one for summer and it's the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, I have loved this foundation forever and I always get it out when it starts to get warm again because it gives a lovely, dewy finish to the skin and the little shimmer in it make your face look so glowy and healthy. I have this in the shade True Ivory.

I found these sunglasses in Primark and I fell in love with them, I love the pattern of these (one of my friends said they reminded her of giraffes, do you agree haha?!) and I think they really suit my face shape plus they were cheap so all's good and well!

This is a favourite all year round but Pretty Little Liars Season 6 started at the beginning of the month and I am loving it so far. I'm really enjoying finding out who 'A' is and why they are doing it etc. Let me know if you watch it because it's my all-time favourite show and if you don't watch it, you should, although you will become addicted and  you won't want to stop until you're up-to-date!

What's On My Face | Final Day Of School

I can't believe it's my last ever day at school, it went so so fast it's unbelievable but here I am finishing this chapter of my life so that I can start the next one which for me is college, but let's not think about that right yet, I have just under 3 months off. So I went for quite a natural look because even though I'm leaving school and it probably doesn't matter what makeup I wear I didn't want to look over the top. So although it is more than what I would wear on a day-to-day basis, it's still natural.

Golden Sugar and Hot Spice | Review

I'll be honest, I've had these products in my 'products to review' pile for a while now, I don't know what's taken me so long to get round to actually reviewing these but here we go, I'm doing it now. These palettes by Makeup Revolution are stunning, the first one I got was Hot Spice which is the one of the left of the photo, it has some gorgeous peachy pink shades in it as well as two highlighter shades that would go really well with the blushes. It has a nice mixture of both matte and shimmer blushes, so depending on the look you're going for you can opt for either. I'm not sure about this palette being for contour as well as blush because the shades are far too orange for it to be used for contouring. Saying that though I love the highlighter shades and they are perfect for everyday use.

Next up is the Golden Sugar palette which is the one on the right of the photo, I wanted this product for a long time before it came back in stock on the Superdrug website and it felt like forever for it to be restocked but when I saw it was I ordered it straight away and by the next day it was already out of stock again so I got it just in time! I really like the blush shades in this, there is quite a variety of colours in this so it's perfect if you were going on holiday, a couple of them could be doubled up as highlighters as well. The contour shades in this palette as opposed to the Hot Spice palette are a lot more suited for contouring, the shimmery one is great for bronzing your face and the matte one is great for contouring.

Both these palettes are £6 and come in shiny black packaging which is really lightweight so perfect for travelling. They also both have large mirrors which is always a bonus and makes applying makeup on the go so much easier!

Topshop Makeup Haul

I was in Topshop the other day and I was browsing through the makeup section and it dawned on me that I hadn't actually properly tried any of the makeup they do so I thought it was a perfect time to try it properly since it's recently been 5 years of Topshop beauty!

The first thing I knew I wanted to try was the Glow Highlighter in Polished, I was planning on getting this ages ago but I never did so I thought I'd just pick it up now and try it. I was going to get it in the rose gold packaging but the only had the normal ones left which made me sad because I wanted the rose gold packaging. I got it anyway and as you can see from the photo below I've already used it and I love it! I am a sucker for highlighters at the moment and I can't get enough of them!

The next thing I wanted to properly try is the lipsticks, I chose the colours Nevada and Innocent. I love the colours of both of these, Nevada is such a pretty nude colour and Innocent is more pink, although in the tube it looks darker than it actually is on my lips. I'm so glad I got to pick these up in the rose gold packaging because it's beautiful and I'm a sucker for rose gold.

Empties #2

It's been about 3 months since I last did an empties post and I have collected a few products that I have used up. Like I did in the last one I'll say why I like/dislike the product and if I would repurchase it again.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel: I love this scent and every Christmas I am in Lush smelling this product. I wish you could buy it all year round but unfortunately you can't. I am definitely repurchasing this when it comes back next Christmas time.

Garnier Ultimate Blends 'The Sleek Restorer' Conditioner: I do like this conditioner, it's very moisturising and makes my hair really shiny. I also love the cocoa scent it has and yes, I probably would repurchase this again.

Carmex Lip Balm: I used up this product pretty quickly, I used it every day for about 3 weeks applying it in the morning and just before I went to bed. It made my lips feel so moisturised and because I got the strawberry flavour it smells amazing. 100% repurchasing this again.

Batiste Dry Shampoo: When I first tried this years ago I thought it was amazing but since then better products have come out and it's nowhere near as good. I won't be repurchasing this again.

Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Shampoo and Conditioner: I really like that these have no parabens or colourants in them and they make my hair smell so nice afterwards but they just don't make my hair feel that soft and after washing it makes my hair a lot my tangly than it would usually be so I probably won't repurchase these.

Zoella Soak Opera: I love this product, I love all the Zoella range, I think it smells gorgeous and this creates so many bubbles and also lathers really well if you're using it as a body wash instead of bubble bath. I will repurchase this once I've used up my many bath/shower products.

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara: I will continue repurchasing this product forever, it makes my lashes look amazing and it's my all-time favourite drugstore mascara, I love it.
